Ozone: OEWG-31
The outcomes of the 31st meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol have been reported by IISD-RS. Therein, are the details regarding consideration of two proposals - one by the US, Canada and Mexico, and a second by the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) - to amend the Montreal Protocol to address hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

Montreal Protocol: Proposals for HFCs Phase-down
The Ozone Secretariat has released documents in the lead up to the upcoming 31st Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) meeting, scheduled to convene in Bangkok (Thailand) in August. The documents include a proposal from the US, Canada and Mexico, and one from the Federated States of Micronesia, to phase-down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under the Montreal Protocol.
